6 Learn to identify local birds by their markings and calls

Today Joe and I were outside with the dogs when we saw this land in our neighbors' tree. It was quite exciting but since neither of us knew what we were looking at it took a bit of online sleuthing to figure it out. Now we know.

There's a bird whose song is quite beautiful nearby. I don't know what it is yet but I will. The other day I was doing a tai chi workout and because the video was filmed outdoors I assumed that the birdsong was part of what I was watching. It wasn't until later I realized that I was listening to something outside. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see what I could hear.

As soon as I know what bird makes that sweet song, I'll be sure to update again.

Edit: It is ironic that the image of what we saw is now gone. I have no clue what bird it was nor what it looked like and, since I did not have the wherewithal to write out the bird's name, I will never know. How disappointing!

42 Participate in International World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day

Yesterday was the last Saturday of the year and I did some tai chi and some qi gong. It was wonderful. I used some dvds that I had purchased during the early stages of my recovery about a year ago. The Tai Chi dvd in particular was bought because it came with a weighted ball that I needed to use to help with my balance. The qi gong dvds were given to me by my mother. I also listened to a qi gong cd and read a book on tai chi.

And here I am, meditating at the end of one of my practices. I wanted a pic of my actual practicing but timing is everything and nothing fell into place. In other words, this is the best I could do for you.
